The Baltimore Ravens will hire Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver as their DC, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The Ravens recently hired Jesse Minter to be their next head coach.
Weaver has been a finalist for head coaching job with the Arizona Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers in recent weeks.
Weaver’s coaching career has grown steadily through a series of progressive roles in college and the NFL, characterized by continued improvement at the defensive position.

After a playing career as a defensive end that included four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, Weaver transitioned into coaching. He started as a graduate assistant at Florida State in 2010 and then served as linebackers coach at North Texas in 2011. He began his NFL coaching career as an assistant defensive line coach with the New York Jets in 2012, then served as defensive line coach with the Buffalo Bills (2013) and Cleveland Browns (2014-2015).
Weaver joined the Houston Texans as defensive line coach in 2016 and was promoted to defensive coordinator and defensive line coach in 2020. In 2021, he returned to the Ravens as defensive line coach and run game coordinator, later adding assistant head coaching duties in 2022 and 2023.
Weaver became the Dolphins’ defensive coordinator in 2024 and remained in that position through the 2025 season under head coach Mike McDaniel. During this time, he attracted head coaching interest and attended multiple interviews during the recruiting cycle, including with the Falcons, Commanders, Bears, Cardinals, Pittsburgh and others, although none resulted in being named a head coach.
