Rams will play 1 of 2 teams in divisional round: Updated scenarios for NFC playoffs

The Los Angeles Rams have four potential opponents in the division following their victory over the Carolina Panthers. The only team they can’t face next weekend is the Green Bay Packers, but they’ve already been eliminated, so they’re off the roster for good.

After the Chicago Bears’ comeback victory over the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night, the Rams’ list of potential opponents is down to two: the Bears and the Seattle Seahawks. The Rams can no longer face the Philadelphia Eagles or San Francisco 49ers, although their game Sunday at 4:30 will determine Los Angeles’ next-round opponent.

Either way, the Rams will be on the road next weekend, playing either Saturday or Sunday. Here are the latest updates from the NFC Divisional Playoffs.

If the 49ers win…

If the 49ers win on the road on Sunday, the Rams will travel to Chicago to face the Bears, the only NFC playoff team Los Angeles has not faced this season.

If the Eagles win…

After the Eagles beat the 49ers at home, the Rams and Seahawks will play a rubber game, their third meeting of the season. The Seahawks had a first-round bye so they could get plenty of rest, but the Rams had already beaten them once and lost Game 2 by a 16-point margin.
