Despite their recent losing streak, the Rams remain a team that few want to face in the playoffs thanks to Stafford’s stellar performance this season. He is one of the MVP favorites and is likely to win the award for the first time in his 17-year career.
But ESPN writer Sarah Bishop has an even stronger belief beyond her MVP candidacy. Bishop believes Stafford deserves to be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Those around Stafford believe he deserves to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, and despite a poor performance in Week 17, Stafford had an incredible year that further cemented his Hall of Fame credentials.
In his 17th season, Stafford has passed for 4,448 yards, 42 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He was selected to the Pro Bowl for the third time in his NFL career, and even if he doesn’t win a championship this season, he could be a top-three MVP candidate in the worst-case scenario.
This was his best season in the NFL and a season in his career that spans nearly two decades. Stafford played 238 games in his NFL career between the Rams and Detroit Lions, and his performance was enough to earn him the honor.

He led the Rams to the 2021 Super Bowl championship and has 64,267 career passing yards, 419 touchdowns and 196 interceptions.
While he is tied with Brett Favre for the most six-man draft picks in NFL history, Stafford has been one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL since his debut in 2009.
He may not have the NFL record of Drew Brees or the multiple Super Bowl wins of Eli Manning, but Stafford’s career as a whole, especially if he wins MVP this season, should be enough to earn a spot in the Hall of Fame.
Stafford wasn’t in the same league as Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and some of the best quarterbacks in NFL history, but he did enough to become a Hall of Famer when he retired.
