SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Immanuel Quickley tied a career high with 40 points and 10 assists. The Toronto Raptors defeated the Golden State Warriors 145-127 on Tuesday night in the Warriors’ first game since star guard Jimmy Butler suffered a season-ending right knee injury.
Quickley hit 11 of 13 shots and all 11 of his free throws, while Scottie Barnes added 26 points and 11 assists in what was the Raptors’ highest-scoring game of the season and the Warriors’ worst defensive performance of the season.

Buddy Hield scored a season-high 25 points and hit six 3-pointers — all of his attempts were from beyond the arc — while Stephen Curry scored 16 points and Draymond Green had six points, six rebounds and five assists.
Hield’s 3-pointer with 5:02 left cut Toronto’s lead to nine points, but Brandon Ingram hit a long shot immediately after.
With Butler out, Golden State head coach Steve Kerr activated Jonathan Kuminga for the first time in 17 games, and the leaping forward scored 20 points and five rebounds on 7-of-10 shooting in 21 minutes. With his status so high on the bench, he has requested a trade, but it’s unclear if the Warriors will move him before the Feb. 5 deadline. He and Kerr spoke last week.
Curry missed his first five 3-point attempts but made one with 25 seconds left in the second quarter, and the Warriors trailed 70-50 at halftime and shot just 39.6 percent (6 of 23 from 3-point range).
