NEW YORK — With a month until pitchers and catchers report to spring training, the Yankees are adding depth to their rotation.
Tuesday night’s trade of Marlins left-hander Ryan Weathers — which sends four rookies to Miami — gives the Yankees another starting option to start the season, with Gerrit Cole, Carlos Rodon and Clark Schmidt set to start the year on the injured list.

Here’s a look at the Yankees’ rotation to start the 2026 season:
Max Fried
The veteran lefty had a solid first season in the Bronx (19-5, 2.86 ERA), but struggled in the postseason after a career-high 195.1 regular-season innings.
Cam Schlitler
The rookie right-hander provided a welcome addition to a much-needed rotation in the second half, posting a 2.96 ERA in 14 starts and a stellar performance in the playoffs against Boston. A change may be added this spring.
Will Warren
With Cole injured in spring training, he started in the rotation and made a team-high 33 starts with a 4.44 ERA and earned some Rookie of the Year consideration.

Louis Gill
The right-hander’s 2025 season (11 starts, 3.32 ERA) was delayed by a lat strain, and he hasn’t quite matched the success he had in the first half of 2024, when he was the AL Rookie of the Year.
Ryan Weathers
Injuries, including flexor and lat strains last year, hampered his development after he was drafted in the first round by the San Diego Padres (7th Overall) 2018.
