Presidential ‘Doomsday Plane’ Seen Landing at LAX, Sparking Questions

The president’s “doomsday plane,” a flying fortress designed to serve as an aerial command post in the event of a nuclear war, was spotted in the sky Thursday night, sparking questions and concerns on social media.

A video posted by the Airline Videos X account shows a Boeing E-4B Nightwatch landing at Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday night.

According to an Air Force fact sheet, the modified 747s are immune to electromagnetic pulse attacks and have electrical systems designed to support advanced electronics and a variety of communications equipment.

First deployed in 1980, the aircraft can fly for 12 hours on a full tank of jet fuel and can be refueled in the air.

The plane was reportedly carrying the defense minister Peter Heggs and several Pentagon reporters.

Video of the vigil sparked a flurry of social media posts, with many wondering if it was a sign of the impending end.

It’s unclear how many passengers were on the plane, but right-wing reporters L. Todd Wood, A member of the Pentagon press corps posted a photo of the plane on Thursday, saying “boarded the doomsday plane at Joint Base Andrews.”
