MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – Wisconsin police are taking an aggressive approach to combating speeding on a major highway in the state after a driver was caught going nearly 40 mph over the speed limit.

According to the Madison Police Department, the driver was not only speeding on Beltran, one of the busiest roads in Wisconsin, but he was also speeding. They had two children in the car, but they were not properly protected.
A three-year-old child in the back seat did not have a child safety seat installed, while another one-year-old child did not buckle the safety seat properly. The driver was charged with reckless driving after driving 55 kilometers over the speed limit and driving on a suspended license.

Wisconsin requires children under eight years old to use a booster seat and must be restrained in a car seat until they are four years old.
