The crew of Artemis 2 officially embarks on its journey to the moon.

NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman said the “notional translunar injection burn” is complete and they are moving full steam ahead.

FWIW, according to the official Artemis account, this means that “the Orion spacecraft recently ignited the main engines on the service module for approximately six minutes to provide approximately 6,000 pounds of thrust. This maneuver set the Artemis 2 astronauts on their way to the moon.”
So, now let’s talk about the goods. The crew shared two new images of Earth taken from the spacecraft.
