Former KVIA-Channel 7’s Paul Cicala has been heading to his hometown of Tucson, eyeing education as a possible career change.
“My passion has always been teaching,” he said in a video on his Facebook page while attending a job fair for the Tucson Unified Independent School District.
Sikala commented on the job market, wishing everyone in a similar situation luck in finding their next opportunity.
“It’s a little scary that there are so many people looking for jobs. I know teachers are very important in society and unfortunately, as you can see, there are a lot of people looking for these job opportunities. I wish them all the best,” he said.

Sikara, who retired from television broadcasting in February, said he wants to teach journalism or broadcast journalism in high schools.
The veteran journalist announced on February 19 that he was leaving the broadcaster due to some recent health issues and concerns for his father, who has dementia. He remains a resident of El Paso.
