Packers running back Josh Jacobs misses second straight day of practice

GREEN BAY – Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs missed practice for the second consecutive day on Dec. 11.

Jacobs has been dealing with a knee contusion over the past few weeks after being injured in Week 11 against the New York Giants. He missed the next game against the Minnesota Vikings.

“We’ll see how he feels [Dec. 12] Packers coach Matt LaFleur said during a Dec. 11 pre-practice press conference.

He seems to be turning a corner and feeling better after totaling 169 yards and a touchdown in his past two games against the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears.

“Anytime a guy doesn’t practice, it’s always a problem. We’ll see,” LaFleur said. “He keeps fighting. He’s doing everything he can to get ready to go.”

With the exception of Jacobs, every other player on the active roster practiced for the Packers on Dec. 11.

Lucas Van Ness injury update

Packers defensive end Lukas Van Ness returned to practice on Dec. 10 and practiced again on Dec. 11.

Van Ness missed five games with a foot injury and returned in Week 12 against the Vikings, but only played in six games. He has missed the past two games.

“He looks good,” LaFleur said after practice on Dec. 10. “We’ll see how he reacts today, give him more training and see where he is now.”

Savion Williams injury update

Packers receiver and return specialist Savion Williams practiced again after missing the Bears game.

He has been battling a foot injury that has forced him to miss the past two games.

Matthew King injury update

Packers receiver Matthew Golden, who has battled shoulder and wrist injuries this season, participated in practice for a second straight day.

Golden came up against the Bears but had only five steals and one field goal in the game.

Dontaevion Weeks injury update

Packers receiver Dontayvion Wicks was on the field practicing with the team for the second consecutive day.

Weeks, who is dealing with an ankle injury, tried to try it out against the Bears but only played in six games.

Update on players on injured reserve

MarShawn Lloyd, Collin Oliver and Brenton Cox Jr. practiced again. Their 21-day training window opens on December 1st.
