Packers pass rushing standout Micah Parsons hurts left knee against Broncos

DENVER (AP) — Green Bay Packers standout pass rusher Micah Parsons was helped off the field after injuring his left knee on a non-contact play in the third quarter against Denver on Sunday.

Parsons was chasing Broncos quarterback Bo Nix when he suddenly stopped and fell to the ground. He clutched his knee as coaches and teammates came to check on him. Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain II walked onto the field and patted Parsons’ shoulder pads before he left.

Parsons was taken to the locker room and the Packers said his return was questionable. It’s the second major injury for the Packers, who suffered a chest injury to receiver Christian Watson after Surtain fell to the ground following an interception in the third quarter.

Parsons is having a big game. He was forced to fumble early and was considered a pass breakup.

Parsons has 12 1/2 sacks this season after being acquired from Dallas by the Packers for two first-round picks and three-time Pro Bowl defensive lineman Kenny Clark. The Packers gave Parsons a four-year, $188 million contract, with $136 million guaranteed, making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in league history.

Watson, 26, was injured in the third quarter when a diving interception by Surtain fell on him. Watson missed the start of the season while recovering from a torn ACL in Green Bay’s 2024 regular-season finale. He returned to Pittsburgh on October 26.
