Packers Discussion: Is Matt LaFleur still coaching for his job?

The Green Bay Packers are likely to finish the regular season with an 0-4 record, and the team seems to believe they will be without their starting lineup in Week 18. After locking up the No. 7 seed for the third straight year, some are wondering if Packers head coach Matt LaFleur — whose offseason was not extended by new Green Bay president and CEO Ed Policy — is still fighting for his job in 2026.

I want to hear your thoughts.

For the most part, I do see one of two things happening this offseason:

  1. LaFleur gets a multi-year extension.

  2. LaFleur was offered a short-term contract extension (which would really be more beneficial to the team than anything else), but turned it down and entered 2026 in a true contract year situation.

I don’t think he will leave in 2026. I think all the mounting injuries do give the team a chance to rebuild the 2025 team next year (losing some free agents and some new draft picks) and hopefully they’ll be healthier this time around.

Obviously, a tough loss in the wild card round could change things depending on how it looks, but it would need to look like the Packers’ loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 17 for things to move forward. Remember, that was the first game all year that Green Bay lost more than a possession.

But now that our eyes are set on the playoffs, let’s hear your thoughts on LaFleur.
