Two of high school girls basketball’s best teams and a group of its brightest stars will go head-to-head on Saturday at Toyota Stadium in Ontario for the CIF-Southern Open Division championship.

Nationally ranked No. 2 Ontario Christian (31-1), led by No. 1 junior Karina Smith and No. 1 sophomore Tati Griffin, is the favorite to defend the South Section girls basketball title. But fifth-ranked Sierra Canyon (29-2), led by five-star senior and South Carolina commit Jesse Robinson, is too good to pass up — and Ontario’s Christian will be the first to tell you that after narrowly beating the Blazers with two shutouts in the first two playoff games.

3:30 Q3: Jerzy Robinson scored a game-high 24 points on a three-pointer as Sierra Canyon chased the score to 47-44.
Second quarter:
Ontario Christian leads 36-30 Dani Robinson hit a 3-pointer at the end of the first half, followed by Jerzy Robinson’s 3-pointer at the buzzer inside half court. Sierra Canyon closed the gap to 29-27 with just over a minute left in the half.
