The Oklahoma Sooners finished the regular season with a record of 23-6 and 11-5 in SEC play as they prepare for the SEC Women’s Basketball Championship in Greenville, South Carolina. They entered the playoffs as a top-10 team in the AP poll and ranked eighth in the latest USA TODAY Sports women’s basketball coaches poll released Tuesday.
Despite a 2-0 record last week, the Sooners dropped one spot from last week, switching spots with the Michigan Wolverines. The Wolverines had two top-15 wins last week. Still, the Sooners have a good shot at heading into the postseason hosting the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament’s regionals and possibly entering the postseason as a No. 3 seed.

The rest of the top 10 remains unchanged. UConn has held the No. 1 spot for months, with UCLA not far behind. South Carolina, Texas, Vanderbilt and LSU battle for the next four spots in the poll, leaving the SEC with five teams in the top 10. The Big Ten is the only conference with more than one team in the top 10, along with UCLA, Michigan State and Iowa State.
A total of nine SEC teams finished in the top 25 ahead of the SEC Women’s Basketball Championship. Here’s a look at the latest women’s basketball coaching poll from USA TODAY Sports.
