Another elite wide receiver from Ohio State is entering the NFL Draft.
Buckeyes wide receiver Carnell Tate announced Tuesday that he will enter the draft, where he will likely be a first-round pick.
The 20-year-old nearly becomes Ohio State’s sixth wide receiver drafted in the first round since 2022, joining Emeka Egbuka, Marvin Harrison Jr., Jaxon Smith-Ngiba, Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave. Yahoo Sports reports that the Tennessee Titans selected him fourth overall in their latest mock draft and listed him as the No. 12 prospect in the class at midseason.

Quick scouting report from Nate Tice at Yahoo:
Tate possesses length and excellent hand-eye coordination, which gives him a large catch radius, especially near the sideline and in the red zone. His pace eats up the ground and his route running has added real highlights this season, unlocking his offensive prowess at all three levels.
Jeremiah Smith, who will almost certainly be the seventh player on said list in the 2027 draft, overshadowed Tate during their time together in Columbus, but Tate was productive in his own right.
In 2025, Tate had 875 yards receiving and nine touchdowns in 11 games for the Buckeyes, both of which ranked sixth in the Big Ten. He was also the No. 3 receiver on Ohio State’s College Football Playoff championship team last year behind Smith and Egbuka.
Tate’s exit isn’t a surprise, although it does leave some questions about what will happen to Ohio State’s passing attack next year with offensive coordinator Brian Hartline heading to South Florida. Smith and quarterback Julian Saine aren’t going anywhere, but Tate and Smith are the only receivers with more than 300 yards receiving this season.

Quincy Porter, a five-star recruit from last year’s class, might have been the natural choice to play opposite Smith, but he reportedly entered the transfer portal earlier Tuesday. Mylan Graham, another top recruit in the 2024 class, also reportedly entered the portal this weekend.
