Garden Grove, California – At DD Café in Garden Grove, the women serve more than just coffee. FOX 11’s undercover cameras captured waitresses giving lap dances, offering private dances in exchange for cash and telling patrons they could bring alcohol in for a fee.
City records show the DD Café at 10552 McFadden Ave. is only licensed as a coffee shop.
what are they talking about
Mytchell Mora, a former Garden Grove resident and news producer, said he contacted the city, a nearby high school and the school district multiple times over the past year to express concerns about the business.
“Everyone knew about it, but no one did anything,” Mora said.
Mora said he was troubled by the store’s proximity to La Quinta High School, which is within walking distance of the cafe. According to the Garden Grove Municipal Code, adult recreational activities are prohibited within 1,000 feet of school facilities.

FOX 11 visited DD Café and asked the owner what type of business he runs. A woman inside who claimed to be in charge told us the location was “just a coffee shop” and asked us to leave. The owners could not be reached for comment.
We also contacted the City of Garden Grove, emailing officials on Tuesday, February 3 and again on Thursday, February 5, describing the undercover footage and requesting comment. No reply was received.
Later Thursday evening, the Garden Grove Police Department announced on social media that 17 people had been arrested at the DD Café. The business was also red-tagged and effectively ordered to close. When asked what the red tags meant, someone from the police department told us that red tags are issued for a variety of reasons, including safety or code-related issues.
Police have not yet released details about why the 17 people were arrested, and it is unclear what, if any, charges may be filed.
Residents in the area told CNN they were not surprised and said similar businesses are an open secret in the city and more enforcement is needed.
FOX 11 has asked the city and police department for more information and will update this story as more details become available.
