MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Seiler Poffenbarger had 30 points and 10 rebounds and No. 7 Maryland scored 10 straight points with less than a minute left in double overtime to beat Minnesota 100-99 on Sunday.
Oluchi Okananwa had 25 points and eight rebounds for the Terrapins (11-0, 1-0 Big Ten), who trailed 90-99 with less than a minute left in the second overtime. Boffenbarger hit two free throws, then the Gophers turned the ball over on two consecutive inbounds passes. Steals from Kyndal Walker and Okananwa led to three-pointers each, cutting Minnesota’s lead to one with 35 seconds left.

With 10 seconds left in the game, Poffenbarger completed the reversal with an inbounds layup.
Grace Grocholski hit nine 3-pointers and scored 31 points for the Gophers (6-3, 0-1). Tori McKinney scored 19 points, Marla Braun scored 16 points, and Amaya Battle had 13 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists and 7 turnovers.
Maryland trailed by five in the final seconds of the first overtime, but Aden Garzon hit a 3-pointer and a layup after Minnesota missed an inbounds pass to send the game into the second overtime.
Minnesota led 38-24 at halftime, thanks in part to a 17-0 run in the second quarter. Grokolski hit consecutive three-pointers, and Braun scored 5 points in a row, helping Minnesota fall behind 15-14 in the first 10 minutes of the game.

The Terrapins turned the game around in the third quarter, with Addi Mack hitting a quick three-pointer and Isimenme Ozzy-Momodu scoring five points in a row, pushing Maryland to within four points at 48-44. Maryland’s defense held Minnesota to 2-for-17 shooting in the third quarter and forced six turnovers.
