NFC South standings: Panthers top Buccaneers, Falcons beat Cardinals

The unpredictability of the NFC South continues to surprise fans around the league. In Week 16, the Carolina Panthers defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to take first place in the division with two weeks left in the 2025 NFL season.

The Buccaneers have lost three straight games as they continue to spiral at the worst possible time. Meanwhile, the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints move on. Both teams seemed rejuvenated after being eliminated from playoff contention.

The Falcons defeated the Arizona Cardinals to win back-to-back games and now have an overall record of 6-9. The Saints defeated the New York Jets 29-6 for their third consecutive victory. Not bad for a team that started the season 2-10.
