New Zealand defeated West Indies by 138 runs to win the third Test by 323 runs and take the series 2-0.
West Indies restarted 43-0 at Mount Maunganui, needing a record 462 runs to win, but fell from 87-0 to 112-8 at lunch.
New Zealand fast bowler Jacon Duffy took 5-42 and spinner Ajaz Patel took 3-23 as the visitors lost 10 wickets for 51 runs as the Test ended after tea.
“It was a very clinical performance,” New Zealand captain Tom Latham said.
“Winning the toss, batting first, being able to get close to 600 – that’s the perfect blueprint.

“And then obviously what we did with the ball. The way these guys played was obviously really enjoyable.”
The victory moved New Zealand into second place in the World Test Championship standings, behind Australia.
New Zealand claimed a 155-run lead at 575-8 in the first innings, before West Indies tied the record at 306-2 in the second innings.
Latham and fellow opener Devon Conway became the first openers in Test cricket history to score hundreds in both innings, putting their teams in a dominant position.
Conway scored 227 runs and a century, becoming the 10th batsman in Test history to score a double century in the same match, while Duffy took 23 wickets in three games.

West Indies captain Roston Chase scored just 2 and 5 in the third Test to complete a tough series during which he scored just 42 runs and took 3 wickets.
“I thought I had a tough series, well below my standards,” Chase said. “I wasn’t really leading the field.
“Leading verbally and encouraging and motivating the team is all well and good, but as far as going out and contributing to the team, I think I let myself down and I let the team down.”
