A Brooklyn resident has won the top prize of $5 million in the New York Lottery’s $300 million cash-payment scratch-off game.
Adam El-Asha elected to pay his winnings in a lump sum of $3,061,207, after taxes were withheld, rather than receive his winnings in installments.
El-Asha purchased the winning ticket at Tang’s Amber Mini Mart in Brooklyn.
There’s also a top prize of another $5 million in the game with $300 million in cash payouts. Players can verify the status of any New York Lottery scratch-off game by downloading a game report at nylottery.ny.gov.
