For Hoosiers looking ahead to future travel plans, there will be several new flights departing from Indianapolis in 2026.
Indianapolis International Airport ushered in a great event in 2025, with the launch of three new international flights, a record number of passengers, and October 9, the airport’s busiest day for outbound passengers.
Another sign of the airport’s growth is the arrival of several new direct flights in 2026.
So far, Southwest, Frontier and Allegiant have announced new destinations, including a route to a Mexican city not previously served in the Indianapolis market.

Southwest Airlines adds spring, summer vacation destinations
Southwest Airlines will launch new seasonal nonstop flights to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. The airline’s Cabo flights will operate from March 5 to April 6 during spring break travel, while San Juan routes will operate during the summer.
Cabo is the second city in Mexico to serve seasonal service from Indianapolis International Airport, and the new San Juan flight is one of the most direct flights to Puerto Rico. Marsha Wurster, senior director of commercial enterprise for the Indianapolis Airport Authority, said in announcing the flight that San Juan is one of the top three most popular destinations not currently served by Indianapolis.

Frontier Airlines will launch 4 domestic routes
Denver-based budget carrier Frontier Airlines is responsible for most of the new flights from Indianapolis in 2026. The airline will launch 4 direct flights, including 1 permanent route and 3 seasonal flights.
Starting in March, Frontier will fly round-trip from Indianapolis to Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Phoenix and Fort Myers, Florida. Each flight operates two to four times per week, as detailed below.

Allegiant Airlines to fly seasonally to Hollywood Burbank
Budget airline Allegiant Air has announced a new round-trip route from Indianapolis to the Los Angeles area via Hollywood Burbank Airport.
The new flight is the airport’s only nonstop service to Hollywood-Burbank and will operate seasonally from May 22 to August 17. There are two return flights every Monday and Friday.
