As a team, Nebraska is hitting .450 in this game while Kansas is hitting .029. Nebraska’s blocking is very active and equally accurate in terms of release placement and timing. As a team, Nebraska intercepted a total of 10 balls, giving the Jayhawks no chance to get the ball back.

Behind the penalty area, the defense was equally suffocating. The Huskers dug in 48 balls, meaning nothing hit the floor. The moment the blocker touches the ball, Husker moves forward, digs it out and passes it into position.

If you watch the TV coverage tonight, you’ll see that going from watching an all-out back-and-forth game between Texas A&M and Louisville to the start of the Huskers game was astounding. The eye-catching points seem to be how quickly the Huskers get to the ball on defense, or how easily the Husker offense takes the ball away from blockers. You can’t quite put your finger on the huge difference in the game, but you can see it as a spectator.

Come Sunday, a new opponent will take the field at the Devaney Center. We know every game is different and there are many factors that can affect the final outcome of a game. Tonight’s game against Kansas will translate into but not predict the outcome against Texas A&M. Tonight, however, the Huskers celebrated a convincing victory.
