Mourinho angle emerges as Italian heavyweights push to hijack Real Madrid deal

Real Madrid have made early moves ahead of the summer transfer window and one name they have on their radar is Nico Paez.

After an impressive spell in Italy, the young midfielder is now at the center of an increasingly intense transfer battle, with a number of clubs keeping a close eye on his situation.

As previously reported, Real Madrid will activate Nico’s buy-back clause, which would see him return from Como ahead of next season.

The clause, worth around €9 million, gives Real Madrid complete control over his immediate future, and they have until the end of May to make it official.

There’s no urgency yet, but the intention is clear – the club sees him as part of a long-term project.

As a result, Nico’s growth in Italy has not gone unnoticed. Such progress has naturally aroused interest, not least from Inter Milan, who are among the most serious admirers.

The Italian giants are believed to be keeping a close eye on developments and hope there might be an opportunity if Real Madrid hesitate.

However, according to AS, they are not alone, but they currently lead the way among Serie A clubs.

There is another factor that affects this story, and that is the state of management at Real Madrid.

Jose Mourinho’s perspective

Names such as Jose Mourinho have been mentioned amid uncertainty over the next head coach.

In Italy, there have been suggestions that the arrival of a manager with a different tactical approach could affect the way Nico is viewed by the team.

Coach’s preference always plays a key role, especially for young players trying to break into the first team.

Despite this, Madrid remains in a strong position. Bringing Nico back was a relatively low-cost move, allowing them to closely evaluate him during the preseason.

At the same time, they also have a financial advantage; retaining 50% of his rights means they will benefit significantly from any future sale, even if they decide not to reintegrate him into society.

This leaves Real Madrid with a number of options. They could bring him back and test his quality in the squad, loan him out again to develop further, or even consider selling if the right offer comes.

What is clear, however, is that Nico is now a player who is attracting widespread attention across Europe.
