‘Motherwell won this game at a canter’

We asked you for your thoughts on Motherwell’s 1-0 win over Ross County, which sealed their place in the last 16 of the Scottish Cup.

Here’s what some of you are saying:

Ian: Not the best watch, but a win is a win. Who needs a new striker when Tawanda Maswanhise returns and scores for the third straight game?

Allen: Another dominant performance from “Well, easy victory.” Their passing and fluidity were once again excellent, but they still lacked any real penetration to put pressure on defenders. Maswanheath continue to perform, despite the presence of Martin O’Neill in the stands, but both he and Motherwell should reject any offer to allow him to develop and hone his undoubted skill level. How many players have been lured by the wages offered by their old companies and then disappeared?

Colin: It was great to advance to the next round of the cup, but we struggled to score against a mediocre team. This frustrating game once again highlighted our need to acquire quality forwards. Apostolos Stamatropoulos got the start but never came close to scoring.

Fraser: We controlled most of the game. Ross County had a few chances but Matty Connelly was outstanding. When Lukas Fadinger, Elijah Just and Emmanuel Longelo came on the court, the team’s front line changed a lot. On to the next round – Jens Berthel Askou’s army marches on.

Stephen: Motherwell won this match at a canter. They rotated the lineup, gave some players game time, but still managed to control the game. It’s a true testament to Ascu’s coaching and team building.

james: Another great win, a lot of changes in the team, if a few more goals had been scored the score would have been better, but a win is a win. Well done Motherwell.
