Los Angeles, California – AEW Revolution took place at Crypto.com Arena on Sunday night, and the event lived up to its name with plenty of violence, super spectacle, and most importantly, cheers from the Los Angeles crowd. Here’s a game-by-game breakdown.
AEW Revolution: Zero Hour

Bigoom AJ and QT Marshall vs Infantry
-
The crowd loved this match from the start. In addition to great wrestling from Big Boom AJ, TV host Wayne Brady was also involved when The Pacer’s Shane Taylor tossed him off the barricade to ringside. Tyler then threw “Justice” to the ground before “Justice” speared him, causing the good guys to regain the victory, with many yelling “Rumble” and “Rizzler” hitting his patented “Rizz Face” to the jubilant Los Angeles crowd.
TBS Championship: Champion Willow Nightingale VS Lena Kross
-
It was a technical masterclass between Nightingale and Kroos, with the pair starting slowly and building the match with sheer physicality and intensity. Cross plays the role of “Giant” so well that Nightingale finds it hard to reject her entirely. After a series of reversals and counterattacks, Nightingale hit Cross with an unexpected roll, winning the game and defending the championship. Cross’ partner Megan Bain attacked Willow after the match, putting her in danger during their tag team match later in the night.
21-man Blackjack Battle Royal for AEW National Championship
-
When you search for the definition of chaos in the dictionary, you may find the Blackjack Battle Royale game. Featuring crowd favorites such as Tomasso Ciampa, Jungle Jack Perry and Champion Riccochet, the match took the ringside area by storm. Stunning sites like Komander are easily accessible for wire diving. With Ciampa eliminated, it all came down to Perry and Riccochet, with Perry fighting back against the champion, slamming his head onto the apron and sending him to the floor while sending the crowd into a frenzy as he became the new AEW National Champion.

AEW Tag Team Championship: FTR (Kash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) vs. Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson)
-
Wrestling aside, the feud between FTR and the Young Bucks ringside family was entertaining enough to sell the match. Add in in-ring action from two of the best tag teams in wrestling, and the result is exactly what you’d expect. A tough, bloody and must-see match. To get an idea of just how tough it was, just look at the Young Bucks’ tandem super combos from the inside of the ring to the outside on the hardwood. After many OMG moments, superkicks and near falls, FTR retained after the Monster Shatter Machine off the top rope.
-
After the match, the roof was blown off the Crypto.com Arena as Cope and Christian Cage came back to attack FTR, making their intentions clear with a tag team title.
Eternal Toni Storm vs. Marina Shafir: Everyone banned from ringside
-
Shafir dominated the early going of this game, both on and off the court. How does Toni Storm return to competition? Well, she gritted her teeth and stepped back, biting her opponent’s feet multiple times to keep herself going. It worked, and she used the momentum to hit a series of German double rows on Shafir. After her Storm Zero wasn’t enough to finish the match, she bit Shafir again, this time in a less than ideal position… and then capitalized, using a roll-up to win the match.
-
The arena was then in shock when Ronda Rousey came out to confront Storm, only for us to see her teaming up with Shafir. Ronda Rousey vs. Toni Storm? Book now.
AEW Continental Championship: Jon Moxley VS Konosuke Takeshita
-
After he hardcore entered the ring, Moxley immediately started working on Takeshita, hammering his left knee repeatedly. The challenger never backed down, kicking out multiple piledrivers from the champion. Mox continued to show his intensity and even licked his opponent’s blood, much to the disgust of fans. Takeshita was unstoppable from the start, kicking out and hitting Fury multiple times before Mox kicked out. Mox then hit two Death Knights unsuccessfully, but he knocked Takeshita down with a sleeper to retain his title.
-
After the match, “Aerial Assassin” Will Osprey returned to attack Moxley. The AEW crowd favorite returns after eight months out due to injury, and he looks ready to go.
AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship: The Furious Babes* Harry Cameron and Willow Nightingale) vs. Megan Bain and Lena Cross
-
Despite being attacked after defending her titles earlier in the night, Willow Nightingale forced herself out to defend the Tag Team Championship against Haley Cameron. It would prove to be a costly decision, as Bane and Cross would dominate and capture the title in just a matter of minutes, shocking the Los Angeles crowd.
Sverve Strickland vs. Brody King
-
This was probably the slowest fight yet, but for good reason the two heavyweights spent a lot of time picking each other apart. From King slamming Strickland to the exposed concrete outside to Strickland powerbombing him to the apron, they all had their own way with each other. Brody hit the All Seeing Eye but Swerve kicked out and then hit the House Call and locked in the King 1,2,3.
-
After the match, Swerve was ready to end King’s career with a cinder block, but Kenny Omega stepped in to stop him.
AEW Women’s World Championship: ⅔ Lost: Kris Statlander VS Thekla
advertise
-
Kris Statlander is a force and she made that clear right off the bat when she flattened champion Thekla with a huge clothesline, causing the crowd to ooh and aah. Despite this, Thekla, the “venomous spider”, achieved her first autumn victory by crawling in a curled manner. Stat responds by dealing some damage to Tekla’s exterior, throwing her wherever she wants. Star fell for the second time after countering the champion’s Black Widow Choke and turning it into a piledriver. The third round started with Thekla grabbing the belt from an unconscious referee’s pants, but Stat intercepted it and let out an epic shout. The referee woke up and saw Statter grabbing the belt, grabbing it and allowing Thekera to stab her before using a double stomp to secure the win and retain her title.
AEW World Trios Championship: The Don Callis Family (Kyle Fletcher, Mark Davis and Kazuchika Okada vs. Kevin Knight, Mike Bailey and Mystico)
-
The challengers all came to the ring wearing wrestler masks as a tribute to Mystico, but the Don Callis family ripped off Bayley and Knight’s masks early on. The game featured one superb feat after another. Mark Davis nearly single-handedly defeated the good guys, but the high-flying attacks of Knight, Bayley, and Mystico proved to be too much, and Knight’s final UFO Splash sealed the deal, winning them the Tag Team Championship. They then put Místico on their shoulders and the crowd cheered, a feel-good moment.
Andrade El Idolo VS Bandido
-
It was a battle of egos, almost more than just a wrestling match. From Andrade taking off his shirt after the match started, to Bandido trying to take off his pants, to Andrade actually taking off his pants later (which the crowd loved), this was purely for the crowd. The wrestling was good, with Bandido getting a few high risk high reward spots and Andrade landing a perfect moonsault of his own. Andrade continued his antics, talked to several women in the audience, and then got back to work. After several near falls, Andrade gained the upper hand and hit DM from the top rope, enough to win.
Tornado Trio: Roderick Strong, Orange Cassidy and Darby Allin vs. Dogs (Gabe Kidd, Clark Connors and David Finley)
-
It was a tornado match, so it was all over the place, until Clark Connors hit Darby Allin with a spear from the inside to the outside of the ring, which was probably the craziest spot of the night. Allin was then chained to the ring post while his teammate gained momentum and once he was freed he immediately jumped backwards from the top rope onto the dog. After Allin hit Kidd with a skateboard and tied him up outside the ring, Roderick Strong finished the match in the ring and handed the pin to Orange Cassidy, giving the good guys the win.
AEW World Championship Texas Death Match: MJF VS Executioner Adam Page
-
AEW is known for its crazy stipulations and matches, one of the most popular being the Texas Death Match. Page and MJF alone were enough to sell this match, but if that wasn’t enough, Page let everyone know from the first few minutes how brutal this was going to be, by pinning a piece of paper to MJF’s chest and ripping it off. This set the tone for their use of glass, barbed wire, and more cunning weapons. Page completely destroyed MJF long before he could really attack. His time was about to come, though, as he would soon turn the tables and make the match more dramatic, injecting a syringe into the executioner’s mouth before Alabama slammed him into a barbed wire steel chair. Both men worked their way through the table and into each other with barbed wire chairs before stalemateing again with the crowd chanting both men’s names back and forth. Then the executioner grabbed a whole bunch of… skewers. He and MJF were now tied together by dog collars, and they attempted to thrust the collars into each other’s faces before Page succeeded, stabbing their opponent in the head before hitting a monster clothesline for the first close victory. The crowd began chanting “We want fire” to which the executioner responded “Who has a lighter?” Of course, this was before MJF threw Page with a chain into another table with barbed wire on top. They made their way to the stage area when Executioner hit MJF with a supersonic blast through a table under the stage, flames exploded around them but the two still stood up. Back in the ring, MJF hit Executioner with the chain, and Executioner fell down. The referee starts counting and the fans hope for a miracle, but that’s it, MJF retains it and Page can never challenge for the title again.
