Missouri QB Beau Pribula to visit Tennessee football, per reports

According to numerous reports, Missouri transfer quarterback Beau Pribula will visit the Tennessee football team and the Vols are considering options other than Sam Leavitt and Joey Aguilar.

Pribula is expected to arrive in Knoxville as early as Jan. 10. He will become the second transfer quarterback to visit UT, following Leavitt.

Pupra is looking for his third school. He spent two seasons at Penn State before starting at Missouri in 2025. In 10 games for the Tigers, he completed 67.4 percent of his passes for 1,941 yards, 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He rushed for 297 yards and six touchdowns.

Pribula is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 212 pounds and is from York, Pennsylvania. He has one season of eligibility remaining.

How Tennessee sees Beau Pribula, Sam Leavitt, Joey Aguilar

Tennessee needs a starting quarterback in 2026, and George McIntyre and Fayzon Brandon are developing. Head coach Josh Heupel prefers to transfer with only one season of eligibility, so the job could go to McIntyre or Brandon in 2027.

MacIntyre is a former four-star recruit who will be a redshirt freshman in 2026. Brandon was a five-star recruit coming out of UT in January.

Leavitt is an Arizona State transfer with two seasons of eligibility. But he could be an NFL prospect in the 2027 draft. The portal’s top-ranked quarterback, Leavitt is considering Tennessee, LSU, Miami and possibly Oregon State.

Aguilar is already ineligible, but he is trying to get an extra year as a plaintiff in Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia’s federal lawsuit against the NCAA, which challenges eligibility rules involving former junior college players.

There is no solution in this case. But on Jan. 12, there will be a conference call between Judge William Campbell, NCAA attorneys and attorneys representing Aguilar and other players, according to court records obtained by Knox News. The reason for the meeting is unclear but could affect Aguilar’s eligibility.

Leavitt and Aguilar would be Tennessee’s starters in the 2026 season if given the chance.

If UT acquires Pribula, the competition with MacIntyre and Brandon could become even tighter. McIntyre was in Heupel’s offense for a year, and Brandon was a phenomenal talent. Pribula will be the front-runner, but he’ll have to earn the job.

The transfer portal will close on January 16 and new players will not be able to enter. After that, Tennessee can still get a quarterback, but has few good options.
