Mike Perry discloses Nate Diaz fight will be the biggest payday of his career

On Monday, Most Valuable Promotions announced that the Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano card will feature a showdown between Bare Knuckle Fighting Champions’ “King of Violence” champion Mike Perry and Nate Diaz, the creator of the UFC’s “Baddest Motherf**ker” belt.

Although it was only announced a few days ago, promotions for the fight have been working hard to put the fight together for months.

“This has been brewing for a while. Maybe you’ve seen little teasers on social media of me training, doing MMA moves and stuff like that. They’ve been talking about it. The names have changed. I think once the White House card was announced, I think things came together… people were really looking forward to this fight and some people said it was the people’s main event,” Perry said during an appearance. Ariel Helwani Show.

“It’s definitely going to be an exciting fight. I’m training at full strength. I’m excited inside and want to do my best in this fight, so I’m looking forward to showing that to the fans.”

Perry will compete in the first mixed martial arts event to be streamed on Netflix, with more viewers than any of his fights. He will also receive the largest bonus in his nearly 22-year combat sports career.

Asked if this fight would be the best payday of his career, Perry said: “Yeah, absolutely.”

“The next one is always the best. This is the next one. I’ve always said that. It’s locked in. I swear, I’ve been saying that for 20 years,” he continued. “I thank Nate for helping me get this matchup, you know, we’re going to clash, which is really cool for all the hard work I’ve put into my career.”

With the fight agreement signed, Perry can rest easy knowing the fight will actually happen. Nate Diaz always shows up.

“You know, Nate Diaz and Diaz’s team, they’re not going to back out of the fight. So, that’s a sure thing, because neither am I. So, we’re going to back out on May 16th, man. MMA. I hope to do a lot of damage,” Perry said.
