Michigan football already has one standout defensive lineman in Brother Rice from Chicago (Ill.) and now looks to add another and keep the pipeline humming.
The Wolverines have defensive tackle Trey Pierce in the middle of the defensive line, who comes from a solid program in several states in the 2023 class. But since this is Pierce’s final year, they need to retool and add more interior players who can dominate in the paint and in the frontcourt.

Michigan moved into the top eight in the Class of 2027 on Wednesday with four-star DL Brayden Parks. Ohio State, Oregon, Notre Dame, Miami, Georgia, Tennessee and Illinois were the other finalists for Parks.
247Sports ranks Parks as the No. 128 player in the country regardless of ranking. He is the 12th-best defensive lineman and seventh-ranked player in the state of Illinois.
Rival recruiting forecasters suggest Notre Dame will be his final choice when he chooses a school, but there’s still time to bridge the gap — and Pierce’s ace in the hole.
