The NASCAR ecosystem is filled with big names, from famous drivers like Chase Elliott, Joey Logano and Kyle Larson to famous car owners like Richard Childress, Roger Penske and Rick Hendrick.

To NASCAR fans, Childress, Penske and Hendrick are legends. But they don’t really make the headlines, especially compared to the game’s greatest-ever benefactor, Michael Jordan.

Jordan’s love for NASCAR is well-documented, with the Basketball Hall of Famer making appearances at the game over the years. He has invested more in the sport in recent years, buying a team of his own and moving it up the Cup Series standings.

Jordan does own a NASCAR team. He is a part-owner of 23XI Racing, joining forces with co-owners Curtis Polk and Denny Hamlin to purchase a Cup Series charter ahead of the 2021 season. He invited Bubba Wallace to drive the No. 23 Toyota Camry on the organization’s first ride.

23XI has added two full-time tanks and one part-time tank over the years since its debut, with Riley Herbst (35th), Tyler Reddick (45th) and Corey Haim (67th) all vying for glory in 23XI colors in recent years.

Bubba Wallace

As of March 4, 2026

Wallace is the first driver to sign with 23XI Racing, inking an agreement with the fledgling company ahead of the 2021 season. Later that year, he won his first Cup Series championship at Talladega in a rain-shortened race, beating everyone in the field.

He has since added two more wins to his collection, winning in 2022 at Kansas in Kurt Busch’s No. 45 car and in 2025 at Indianapolis in his own No. 23 car. Under 23XI Racing, Wallace made two playoff appearances. He’s one of the Cup Series’ best drivers on superspeedways and has made significant progress on the road course.

Riley Herbst

As of March 4, 2026

Herbst joins 23XI Racing in 2025, becoming the team’s third Cup driver. The 27-year-old driver is a veteran of the Auto Accessories Series, having competed in NASCAR’s second level for seven seasons.

Herbst limped to a 35th-place finish in his first Cup season, recording multiple DNFs and nine speeding penalties, good for second in the top flight.

He performed well in the 2026 Daytona 500, battling for the lead late in the race and giving Reddick the push he needed to cross the finish line. Herbst finished eighth.

Tyler Reddick

As of March 4, 2026

Reddick is the best driver on the 23XI Racing team. In 2023, he took over duties of the No. 45 car just a few months after Busch retired due to injuries sustained in a crash.

The Corning, Calif., native has become a household name in NASCAR, winning two Auto Parts Series championships and two Cup Series championships before joining 23XI.

Since landing on the No. 45 tank, Redick’s performance has reached new heights. He qualified for the playoffs in each of his first three seasons, winning the regular season title in 2024. Reddick’s comeback at Homestead in 2024 earned him a spot in Championship 4, making him a Cup favorite.

In 2026, Reddick won his first Daytona 500 and defeated Chase Elliott at the horn for his first Harley J. Earl Trophy. Following his Daytona 500 victory, he went on to win the next two races, becoming the first driver in history to sweep the first three races of a NASCAR season.

Corey Haim

As of March 4, 2026

Heim is the youngest member of the 23XI team, joining the team in 2025 as a development driver. The 23-year-old driver has only competed in a few races for the Toyota team. But he was considered a solid prospect, winning 23 of 90 races in NASCAR’s third-level Craftsman Truck Series.

In 2025, Heim won his first Truck Series championship. He is expected to compete for the title again in 2026.
