A Massachusetts restaurant chain has closed another long-standing restaurant, its second closure this month.
A spokesperson for The Not Your Average Joe’s chain in Norwell confirmed to MassLive on Friday that the store had closed on Saturday, February 21. The restaurant closed after its lease expired after more than 20 years in business.
“We have had a great time in this community and it was great saying goodbye to people last week,” a spokesperson said in a statement. “We will miss being part of this community and have many great memories.”
This marks the latest in a series of closures for Not Your Average Joe’s. The Milton-based brand closed its Watertown store on Feb. 11 after 27 years. Not Your Average Joe’s closed its Peabody location in December 2025, Boston Restaurant Talk reported.
According to a 2021 article by CBS Boston, Not Your Average Joe’s is an American restaurant chain that opened in Dartmouth in 1994. The brand is known for its eclectic menu and casual atmosphere, as well as its weekday happy hours, set dinners and brunch.
Over the past few years, the company has closed stores in Arlington, Burlington, Medford, Methuen, Randolph and Seekonk. Restaurants in Acton, Bedford, Hyannis, Waltham and Westwood remain open, according to the Not Your Average Joe’s website.
The company also has locations in Nashua, New Hampshire, Warwick, Rhode Island, and in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia.
The Not Your Average Joe’s store in Norwell, 111 Pond St., is now closed.
