Manchester United made it three consecutive wins with a 3-2 victory over Fulham’s stubborn resistance at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Casemiro and Matheus Cunha scored for the Red Devils before the Cottagers equalized. Just as the game was about to be tied, Benjamin Sesco suddenly appeared and scored the winning goal.

The Red Devils have scored late winners in all three games under Michael Carrick, with substitutes playing a key role.

Even if a player doesn’t start under a new caretaker head coach, they will have a chance to make an impact off the bench.

Mason Mount injured again

Mason Mount did just that against Manchester City, but the goal was disallowed due to a questionable offside call.

He did not come on as a substitute against Arsenal and, surprisingly, was not in the squad for Sunday’s game.

Carrick revealed the Englishman suffered a knock in training. The injury is not serious and he should be back soon.

“He took a few knocks in training,” Carrick told sky sports (Via Club Media). “But it’s not serious.

Terrible injury record since joining Manchester United

“We are disappointed he is not with us today but he will be back soon.”

As well as the versatile midfielder, United will also be without Patrick Dolgu and Matthijs de Ligt through injury for the foreseeable future.

Mason Mount started the season strongly under former manager Ruben Amorim but has since lost his way again due to frequent hiccups.

The former Chelsea ace will be quick to impress for Ineos, with his injury record a major concern. The 27-year-old has missed more than 50 games since joining the 20-time English League Champions.

If he fails to return to form within this season, it would not be a surprise to see United’s number seven leave in the summer.
