A married high school teacher has been arrested in Washington on suspicion of sexually assaulting a student.
Madeleine Scoonno one answered Madeleine GregoryShe is being held on $50,000 bail following her arrest on Monday, March 16.
Scoon, 29, was a teacher at Sprague High School, where she allegedly met the 16-year-old victim.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office confirmed she was charged with alleged sexual misconduct with a minor and communicating with a minor for immoral purposes.
Raymond LeverThe superintendent and principal of the Sprague School District has not yet commented on Scoon’s employment status.
The investigation into her alleged conduct is ongoing.

Scone and the teen spoke with police Monday. She said she sexually assaulted him and performed oral sex on the child.
The alleged sexual assault occurred in a large closet in her classroom after school, police said in a statement.
Investigators allegedly found video of the two entering her classroom shortly after school. The two spent 45 minutes in her classroom.
Schoon also allegedly said they kissed and fondled each other’s private parts in a closet in the school gymnasium after tennis practice and in bushes outside the high school tennis courts.
The teen reportedly told investigators that the sexual abuse began to adversely affect his mental health.
He allegedly told police he tried to end his relationship with Scoon but his teacher would become upset and threaten suicide.
The investigation into Scoon began on February 15 when the boy’s mother allegedly reported text messages she had discovered exchanged between her son and the teacher.

The mother said the abuse appeared to have started in the fall.
When her son started attending the church where Scoon was a youth group leader, her curiosity apparently got the better of her, so she checked his phone.
In some text messages, Schoon allegedly complained about her marital problems and discussed with her children how she wanted a divorce. The two allegedly even said “I love you” to each other, police said.
Scoon also apparently asked the teenage boy not to date any of his classmates because she couldn’t accept it, police said.
Schoon does not yet have an attorney of record, and she has not been asked to enter a plea. It is unclear how long she has been married to her husband.
