But according to “The Athletic”, Manchester United are not ready to let him leave and have rejected Ajax’s proposal.

The Dutch side are seeking a loan deal, delaying a permanent signing until Jordi Cruyff takes over as sporting director next month.
Manchester United are in a similar position. Ineos are delaying any major moves until a new manager comes in after Carrick, which is why this transfer window looks quiet.

Following his arrival, it was rumored that Ugarte would provide the defensive strength missing from United’s midfield. But so far, he hasn’t quite lived up to those expectations.
Many among United fans share the same uncertainty. The 24-year-old Uruguayan never really settled into a clear role or found consistency under Erik ten Hag and Amorim.

Ironically, some of his greatest moments came under the interim management of Darren Fletcher. A recent performance against Burnley was a reminder of what he is capable of when things are going well.
If Carrick continues his move towards a midfield three, Ugarte may still have a way forward at Old Trafford.
But with just 16 games left in the season, time is not on his side. If he wants to remain part of United’s plans beyond the end of the season, he will need to seize every opportunity between now and then.
