A man has been charged with murder after a car hit a pedestrian in north-west London.

Shakaine Dwyer, 29, is accused of killing Ruben Nunes, 34, of Peterborough, who was run over in Willesden on December 3, the Metropolitan Police said.

Police said Mr Dwyer, from Willesden, was charged with causing death by dangerous driving on December 7, but the charge was changed to murder on Monday.

Metropolitan Police added that Gregory Ejiofor, 31, of Milton Keynes, has been charged with possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

“He has a light inside him”

Police were called to Chapel Close at 12:45 GMT to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian. Mr. Nunes died at the scene.

Earlier this month, his family said: “Reuben was a family man – a son, a brother, an uncle, a father and a partner.

“He was loyal to his friends and cherished the people around him. He loved football and was a huge fan of Liverpool.

“Reuben had a light inside of him – he lit up the lives of everyone he touched.

“He was deeply loved by all who knew him and he will always be remembered as a truly blessed soul.”
