LSU football quarterback transfers to Big Ten powerhouse

Former LSU football quarterback Colin Hurley is headed to the Big Ten. He committed to Michigan State and has three years of eligibility, according to multiple reports.

Hurley joins former LSU player Bryce Underwood, who started for the Wolverines as a true freshman in 2025. He has led the team to a 9-4 overall record and is currently ranked No. 18 in the AP poll. Both were originally members of the 2025 recruiting class until Hurley reclassified to 2024. He entered Louisiana State University at the age of 16.

Hurley did not play in any games during his two seasons in Baton Rouge. He played behind Garrett Nussmeier, Rich Collins and Michael Van Buren. When Brian Kelly was fired, Hurley wrote an emotional post on social media in support of the former head coach.

A former four-star recruit, Hurley ranked No. 23 at his position and No. 40 in the state of Florida, according to Rivals’ industry rankings. The Jacksonville native chose LSU over numerous SEC and Power Four offers. At Trinity Christian Academy, he ran for over 5,000 yards in his high school career.
