Lords of the Fallen Sequel Set for Release in 2026, Will Be Epic Games Store Exclusive on PC

Lords of the Fallen, the 2023 reboot of the Souls-based action RPG, is getting a sequel. Publisher CI Games has confirmed that a sequel to Lords of the Fallen is in development and is expected to be released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X in 2026. The game is part of a term sheet the publisher signed with Epic Games, which gives the Fortnite maker “exclusive worldwide distribution rights” to the sequel on PC.

According to a binding term sheet signed on June 14, the Lords of the Fallen sequel will be exclusive to the PC version of the Epic Games Store for its entire life. The game does not yet have an official name, but is tentatively titled “Project 3” and is expected to be released in 2026.

“Rights to the game and series, including all intellectual property rights
The property rights (IP) and rights to publish and distribute the game on all other platforms worldwide, including the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms where the game is currently being developed, will remain with the company. ” said the term sheet.

The term sheet states that CI Games and Epic will continue to negotiate a detailed publishing agreement, which will be announced at a later date.

Lords of the Fallen reboot 2023

Lords of the Fallen is built on Epic Unreal Engine 5 and will be released in October 2023 on PS5, Xbox Series S/X and PC, and will be available through Steam and the Epic Games Store. Developed by Hexworks, this action RPG is a reboot of the 2014 game of the same name.

According to CI Games, “Lords of the Fallen” sold 1 million copies worldwide within 10 days of its release. According to reports, as of the end of November 2023, these games have sold more than 1.2 million copies worldwide.

Lords of the Fallen received the free 1.5 “Masters of Destiny” update in April, which added seven different gameplay modifiers, allowing players to tweak their gaming experience in different ways.
