Livingstone smashes rapid 82 in Knight Riders win

Liam Livingstone’s unbeaten 82 runs off 38 balls helped Abu Dhabi Knight Riders beat Sharjah Warriorz by 39 runs in the I-League T20.

The England batsman shared 95 runs (45 off 27) for the fourth wicket with Sherfane Rutherford as the Knight Riders posted 233-4, the second-highest total in the history of the game.

The Warriorz struggled to fight back, falling 54-3 in the seventh over, with English batsmen Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Tom Abell dismissed for 14 and 6 runs respectively.

In-form Australian batsman Tim David energized the Warriors’ innings with a blast of 60 off 24 balls before he was caught by Alex Hales off the bowling of Ajay Kumar to leave the team with 120-6 at the end of the 13th over.

Dwaine Pretorius made 39 off 20 balls before being bowled by Olly Stone, while Adil Rashid made 25 off 11 balls and was dismissed in the last over of George Garton as Warriorz ended the match on 194-9, falling well short of the target.
