Arne Slott says a rematch with Paris Saint-Germain is inevitable for Liverpool as they advance into the Champions League.
Liverpool advanced to the Champions League quarter-finals with a 4-0 win over Galatasaray on Wednesday night. The Reds bounced back from a first-leg defeat in Türkiye to set up a showdown with defending champions Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals.

It was a repeat of last season’s last-16 tie, when Slott’s side lost on penalties to the French champions. Paris Saint-Germain won the Champions League for the first time.
Slott is looking forward to another epic clash with the Parisians, admitting Liverpool have been hoping to see last season’s conquerors again.
“If you go into the final stages of the Champions League, you know one thing for sure: you’re going to face PSG because it’s an unbelievable team. We experienced that last season when we faced them,” Slaughter told the post-match press conference.
“It’s a very, very difficult game away from home and it’s at Anfield… I said tonight we played a perfect game and we played a great game at Anfield. [against PSG]. I’ve said it many times, what a great game it was, the best game I’ve ever played in my career – maybe not in terms of the result, but in terms of how football should be played. Both teams are just playing football and just trying to enjoy and entertain the fans.

“We were the only team to take them to extra time and the only team to take them to penalties, but this team has proven this season that their level has not dropped.
“Tonight we proved we can still reach the level we were at before [at] For most of last season, that gave me, us, confidence in our performance.
“It’s not the first time this season, we’ve had more players like this – especially in Europe – and we have to try to find consistency, although I’ve let people down: it’s impossible to replicate this performance again, because on a Champions League night with 5.02xG and 0.18 goals conceded, I don’t think it’s going to be easy to replicate that again.”
When is the Liverpool vs Paris Saint-Germain match?
The first leg will be played at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday, April 8, with the second match at Anfield on Tuesday, April 14. Both games will kick off at 8pm BST.
