Last summer, Liverpool completed transfer spending worth £450 million.
Reds sporting director Richard Hughes is committed to upgrading Arne Slott’s Premier League-winning side. Giorgi Mamardashvili, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Giovanni Leoni and Hugo Ekitike have joined.

The Anfield club will also be content with not one but two British transfer records. Firstly, Florian Wirtz was acquired from Bayer Leverkusen for a price that could end up being £116m.
But on transfer deadline day, Liverpool eventually brought Alexander Isak to the club for £125 million, and the deal fell through.
A rocky start for Alexander Isaac
The 26-year-old Swede is coming off a 23-goal season in the top flight for Newcastle United and looks certain to succeed on Merseyside.

However, there is no getting away from the fact that: Isaac has struggled in the early stages of his Liverpool career.
A lack of match fitness and subsequent injuries hampered his start to the Premier League Championship – and he currently sits well below Ekitic in the Reds’ forward pecking order.
Van de Veen calls Isaac his toughest opponent
Isaac has scored just two goals in 15 games – against Southampton in the Carabao Cup and against West Ham United in the Premier League earlier this month.
Having invested so much money in Isaac and signing him to a six-year contract, Liverpool need him to perform well.

However, Tottenham Hotspur’s highly-rated centre-back Mickey van de Veen has high hopes for Liverpool.
The 24-year-old was tested overlapping with Gary Neville this week, revealing Isak is his toughest opponent in the Premier League.
Van de Veen says Isaac is on a different level
“The game we played against Newcastle, when we lost – and the game went down – but this game Isak is on a different level,” he admitted.
“So at this point I’m like, he’s a top player. I know he’s a top player, but in this game I was like, poof.”
“He can run in behind, he can receive the ball, he’s skilled, he has good ball control, he’s quick and he’s got a good shot on goal. So at that point, he’s pretty much everywhere.”

Van de Veen joined Tottenham from Wolfsburg in 2023, so he has faced off against all the big names at the time.
So this should be a reminder to Arne Slott to keep faith in Isak, who will soon be terrorizing the Premier League’s best centre-backs again.
