Celebrated singer, songwriter and guitarist Dave Matthews made some critical remarks about Donald Trump on his band’s TikTok page on Thursday.
The six-minute video shows Matthews walking in Brooklyn, New York, where he said he was visiting family.
He then goes on to talk about how now when people talk to themselves they usually do it over the phone. He first mentioned Trump, referring to attacks on alleged Venezuelan drug ships.
“There is little evidence to support their actions,” he said in the video. “Pretend it’s all fake medicine, but really it’s a way to start a war on Venezuela so we can steal their oil.”
He also said evidence of this was the full pardon of former Honduran president Juan Orlando Hernandez, who helped funnel cocaine into the United States.
“If you’re fighting drugs, I don’t know if you should forgive the guy who brought 10 flat beds of cocaine into the country,” Matthews said.
Matthews also mentioned Hillary Clinton, Israel’s actions in Gaza and Trump’s harsh crackdown on immigration.
“The attacks on immigrants and different groups of people seem to be quite racist,” he said.
His final comments were about Trump’s reaction after the murders of legendary director Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle Reiner.
“What a disgusting person Donald Trump is. What a shallow, horrible selfish, greedy, cruel little pig he is,” Matthew said.
The Dave Matthews Band, formed in 1991, is scheduled to play four shows in Cancun in January.
