The Los Angeles Lakers have a total of 506 players playing for them throughout the 2024-25 season, going back to their days in Minneapolis. Some are forgettable, some are serviceable, some are good, and some are downright legendary.
In the 80th season of the Lakers franchise, founded in 1946 as the Detroit Gems, LeBron Wire is taking a look at every player who has worn one of their uniforms, whether it’s the purple and gold or those from their early years in the Midwest.

After three years at the University of Arizona, Jordan Hill was selected by the New York Knicks with the 8th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft. In the middle of his rookie season, Hill was traded to the Houston Rockets. At the end of the 2011-12 season, he was sent to the Lakers in exchange for Derek Fisher and a 2014 first-round pick.
Hill played for the Lakers until the end of the 2014-15 season and was a regular starter for the Lakers. The 6-foot-10, 240-pound big man primarily played power forward and sometimes played the 5 position. During his time with the team, he averaged 9.9 points and 7.2 rebounds in 22 minutes per game.
He left the NBA in 2017, followed by a brief stint in the North American Premier League. He ended his NBA career averaging 7.9 points and 5.8 rebounds in 18.8 minutes per game.
