Spencer Dinwiddie grew up in the Southland and attended William Howard Taft High School (now William Howard Taft Charter High School) in the San Fernando Valley. He was selected by the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the 2014 NBA Draft out of the University of Colorado Boulder.
The 6-foot-5 guard finally established himself as a scoring threat while also being able to provide help, even though he wasn’t a very efficient scorer. He was waived by the Toronto Raptors midway through the 2023-24 season, paving the way for him to join the Lakers for the remainder of the season.
In 28 games for Los Angeles, he averaged 24.2 minutes per game, 6.8 points, 39.7% shooting from the field, 38.9% from three-point range, and 2.4 assists. He played for the Dallas Mavericks last season and this season is a member of Bayern Munich in the German Basketball Bundesliga, but asked to leave a few weeks ago.
