Although Austin Reeves has yet to return to the Lakers lineup due to a Christmas Day calf injury, Luka Doncic once again put in a stellar performance (46 points, 12 assists, and 7 rebounds) and led Los Angeles to a 28-17 road victory over Chicago.
Toward the end of the game, Jaxon Hayes finished with eight rebounds and four rebounds, and completed a rare game dunk that left Doncic stunned.
With 3 minutes left in the game, Hayes ripped Josh Giddy away while trying to cross from left to right on the outside and completed a powerful dunk by East Bay, extending the Lakers’ lead to 14 points.
While there are plenty of players in the NBA who can pull off a between-the-legs slam during a game, few are brave enough to risk embarrassment or even being benched by a head coach (depending on how much time is left in the game).

Obi Toppin and Greg Brown III are two other names that come to mind when thinking of above-the-rim athletes transforming the East Bay in the game.
Will Hayes attempt the same dunk again later this season? Maybe, but Lakers fans shouldn’t expect the Texas product to become a regular in Los Angeles uniforms.
