Giannis Antetokounmpo was in the early stages of an MVP-level season when he went down with a non-contact injury to his calf during Wednesday night’s game against the Detroit Pistons.

Antetokounmpo will undergo an MRI, but head coach Doc Rivers believes the Bucks’ medical staff has ruled out an Achilles injury.

Interestingly, earlier that same Wednesday afternoon, reports surfaced that Antetokounmpo had requested a trade from the team months before the offseason. Of course, it’s highly unlikely that he faked the injury, but now is the perfect time to indulge in Giannis trade rumors.

Of course, it’s fun to speculate about the possibility of Giannis joining a bunch of different teams, but Lakers expert Ryan Lucas has worked out a deal to sign Antetokounmpo to the Lakers on a two-team deal.

The Milwaukee Bucks will receive Rui Hachimura, Maxi Kleber and Gabe Vincent on their expiring contracts. They will also face Jared Vanderbilt, Dalton Knecht, Adu Tierro, and receive four first-round pick swaps as well as a 2031 first-round pick and a 2032 second-round pick.

The Los Angeles Lakers will receive Antetokounmpo, Andre Jackson Jr., Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Amir Coffey and Cole Anthony.

“Yes, from what I understand, this deal is financially feasible and meets CBA standards after 12/15. Milwaukee needs to give up a player and Los Angeles needs to convert the two-way contract to a standard contract,” Lucas said Wednesday.

Of course, the likelihood of Antetokounmpo being traded is slim, especially to the Lakers. In this case, the Lakers will be able to retain the Big Three of Luka Doncic, LeBron James, and Austin Reeves to form one of the greatest teams in history.
