Brock Purdy has started all four of Seattle’s games against the Seahawks. His record is 4-0.
Coach Kyle Shanahan was asked Thursday about Purdy’s ability to thrive in the raucous environment at Lumen Field.
“I think the biggest thing is that Bullock doesn’t get upset,” Shanahan told reporters. “As loud as you want, they still might not hear you. Especially if you’re in the gun. And then we know they’re going to be a lot louder this week. But I don’t think there’s anything that’s going to really faze Bullock. He’s staying the same. As you guys have gotten to know Bullock and all the situations, I don’t think he’s playing very well when you talk to him. [or] Bad game, I don’t think he looked any different. He will always be Brock. You could feel it on the sidelines the whole game. You felt that way last week.

“That’s what I thought was impressive, with eight minutes left in the game, we lost the lead and the way he came back and hit the next drive is a perfect example of, I mean, you can see on silent tape the character of people, what kind of people they are. A guy that can perform like that on silent tape just describes the kind of person he is.”
A 2022 rookie, Purdy led the 49ers to a 21-13 victory in Week 15 in Seattle. On Thanksgiving night in 2023, Purdy led the 49ers to a 31-13 victory in Seattle. In 2024, Purdy led the 49ers to a 36-24 win over Seattle in Week 6. This year, Purdy led the 49ers to a 17-13 victory over Seattle to open the new season.
Purdy will face his biggest test Saturday night in Seattle. Obviously, it’s not easy. But Purdy knows a thing or two about performing in that venue and winning. He never experienced any other outcome.
