When Kyle Rittenhouse returned to social media in December, he promised big things to come.
A month later, those big things still don’t seem to be a reality for him. Instead, Rittenhouse is best known for shooting three people, killing two, during a 2020 racial injustice protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin, before claiming self-defense and being acquitted. He appears to have used his time on social media, primarily to post defamatory comments and tease the idea of traveling to Minnesota while ICE met with protesters there.
His latest release came on Tuesday, when he shared a photo on X posing with a Highland Defense M134HG minigun.
“Consider bringing this to Minneapolis,” Rittenhouse wrote. “idea?
People responded quickly, but it didn’t go well for him.
“@FBI locked him up,” one person responded.
Skyler Shuler replied on
“You look dumber every year!” wrote another. “Congratulations man.”
Colorado Mick wrote on
“You should repent and save your soul while you still can,” advises Jesse Brenneman.
“Take it and keep it to yourself,” commented Michael Woods. “Such incitement is bad karma.”
“Man, no,” Brayden Pace responded. “With an acquittal, you get a W. You deserve it. But don’t do it. You make responsible gun owners look bad.”
This isn’t the first time Rittenhouse has joked about the Minnesota scene.
“FAFO – Don’t try to hit an ICE agent with your vehicle so you don’t end up in the box forever,” he wrote on X after ICE office Jonathan Ross shot and killed Renee Good in Minneapolis. “It’s easy.”
He followed up with another post that read: “After giving it some thought, should I cross the state line to Minnesota?”
Of course, it also caused a stir on social media.
“How do you look in the mirror in the morning?” one person replied.
“Someone murdered your (expletive) (expletive),” wrote another. “There’s nothing funny about your (expletive), you’re really evil and I can’t wait for karma.”
Rittenhouse announced in December that he would return to social media, saying he “could no longer stand by” following the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
“So I’m back,” he wrote. “Not quietly. Not halfway. I’m coming back in a big way.”
But just a week after his return, he found himself being ripped apart online by a Republican sheriff from Florida.
He previously filmed a video of himself standing in front of the Walton County Jail, claiming that Michael Reddick “was using Florida’s ‘stand your ground’ law to legally defend himself when his life was in danger.”
“Michael did nothing wrong and he deserves all our support,” Rittenhouse said in a video he pinned to the X page.
“We expect the defendant to be fully exonerated under Florida’s Stand Your Ground law,” he added.
Walton County Sheriff Michael Adkinson didn’t take kindly to Rittenhouse’s claims. He retweeted the video through the Walton County Sheriff’s Office’s official X account and posted a video of his own scathing response.
“I wouldn’t normally do that,” Adkinson said. “I don’t normally take the time to opine on cases, certainly not publicly. But in this particular case, a murder occurred yesterday in Walton County, I felt compelled to respond to something that I can only describe as extremely irresponsible. What I will say is that, given a number of factors, None of it is about justice, and individuals, specifically Kyle Rittenhouse and his attorney Anthony Sabatini, trying to frame Thursday’s murder of Mr. Keene in Walton County as a “base case” or wrapping it in a constitutional law or a Second Amendment case.
Atkinson’s mission is far from over.
“After doing this for over thirty years, I’m rarely offended personally, but I’m actually just kind of disgusted by them,” the chief continued. “A man lost his life yesterday. A father, a husband with two young children, was murdered on his property. He was unarmed and unprovoked by a man who drove a tractor more than half a mile onto the victim’s property. Once there, he assaulted his wife in front of witnesses. When the husband, who was not involved in the conflict, came to help lift his wife from the ground, the suspect shot him in the face. There was no fight between them and the suspect, Michael Reddick, was lying on the ground dying. Rediker stood over him and made some remarks, which he will respond to in court. At the same time, he carried out serious assaults on several others as he murdered the man in front of witnesses, who was then murdered on his own property after his wife was beaten.
“Now, for some reason, Mr. Rittenhouse and his attorney, Anthony Sabatini, have determined that this is a great stand your ground case,” Adkinson continued. “Well, I’ll tell you this. I’ll bet you my badge. Not only is this not your position, Mr. Reddick will face ultimate punishment in the state of Florida, or God willing he spends the rest of his life in prison. Because, come Christmas morning in two weeks, there are two little boys in elementary school, two kids, who will be without their dad, and a wife who won’t have her husband, so these two idiots can get more likes on their Facebook and call it a constitutional issue.”
Atkinson then took it home.
“I think you both are a joke and I don’t think you should make a penny off of other people’s pain,” he said. “So, if you don’t like this, you can file it under I really don’t care. I know people aren’t going to like this, and I don’t care. I’m absolutely disgusted and saddened by the Keene family and their loss and the fact that these two yo-yos are trying to make money and press. I probably shouldn’t give them this, but I think the public should know that this has nothing to do with damnation. So, I hope a lot of you guys will reach out and tell these two trucks what you think of what they did to this family’s misery.
“Don’t let them make a dime from likes.”
