Kingdom Come: Deliverance has received a next-gen update on PS5 and Xbox Series S/X. Developer Warhorse Studios and publisher Deep Silver announced on Friday that an updated and enhanced version of the RPG will be available on current-generation consoles. Warhorse confirmed that existing owners of the game on PS4 and Xbox One will be able to upgrade to the new version for free.
The next-gen update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance boosts game performance to 60 fps on PS5 and Xbox Series S/X. It also brings improved visual fidelity and graphics capabilities, including upgraded 4K resolution, better textures, and more.
The next-gen update is now available as part of patch 1.9.7 on PS5 and Xbox Series S/X. According to patch notes shared by Warhorse and Deep Silver, the update improves the visual quality of Kingdom Come: Deliverance based on “PC Ultra” quality. The patch improves existing graphics features and adds new graphics features that were previously only available on the PC version of the game.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance next-gen update features
Graphics improvements include improved asset quality; higher resolution textures and models; support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) v1.2; upgraded 4K resolution, and improved 1440p native resolution.
The next-gen update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance also supports cross-generation save game transfer, so you can port your saves from PS4 or Xbox One. The updated version also received a number of localization features, including Japanese and Czech dubbing. Additionally, the update brings various stability improvements and bug fixes to gameplay and UI.
The next-gen update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance is now available to download for existing owners on PS5 and Xbox Series S/X. New players can purchase it on the PlayStation and Xbox digital storefronts. Additionally, the role-playing game is now available to all subscribers via Xbox Game Pass. Deep Silver has confirmed that the physical version of Kingdom Come: Deliverance Royal Edition (including the base game and all expansion packs) will be released on May 15, 2026.
As part of Kingdom Come Deliverance’s 2nd anniversary celebrations, the role-playing game’s next-gen update was revealed and released without prior announcement. The update also appeared in a PlayStation Store leak last month.
Last week, Warhorse and Deep Silver announced that KCD 2 will launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X on February 4, 2025, and has sold over 5 million copies.
