The Jaguars gained a foothold at Mile High, defeating the first-place Denver Broncos, who entered Sunday on an 11-game winning streak. With the Broncos’ winning streak coming to an end, the Jaguars’ own streak is only getting longer, now at six straight. The team has 11 wins for the first time since 2007 and has a chance for more.
Let’s take a look at some key numbers from the Jaguars’ 34-20 victory over the Denver Nuggets.

Trevor Lawrence
What more could you ask for from your franchise quarterback? Trevor Lawrence has been playing well since the bye, especially the last four weeks. Lawrence currently ranks third in the NFL in touchdowns (33) and has a chance to break the franchise record set by Blake Bortles in 2016 (37).
According to NextGenStats, “In the Jaguars’ Week 16 win over the Broncos, Trevor Lawrence completed 23 of 36 passes for 279 yards and three touchdowns despite dropping back at a whopping 48.8 percent rate, the fourth-highest rate of his career.”
Lawrence tore apart Denver’s blitz despite being pressured frequently. Lawrence completed 12 of 15 passes for 129 yards and two touchdowns. If Lawrence can continue this hot streak into the playoffs, keep an eye out. He has totaled 1,194 yards, 14 touchdowns and zero turnovers over his past four games.

Parker Washington
Those familiar with Harry Potter will get the reference; Parker Washington is Jacksonville’s own in-demand room. Whenever the Jaguars need someone to step up and make plays for them, Parker Washington shows up to save the day. It was no different against the Broncos.
Parker Washington set a career high with 145 yards on six catches, including a nifty touchdown grab. His 90 yards after the catch were the Jaguars’ fourth-most since 2016, and his +70 YAC above expectations was the most of any player this season.
Beyond the numbers, he’s especially deadly. His 140 yards against the Broncos were the most of any player this season. It’s almost ironic, as the Jaguars’ ability to attack defenses down the middle has been their MO as of late. It’s just another example of Liam Cohen and the Jaguars continuing to develop as needed.

Montalic Brown
Montalik Brown is Parker Washington’s defensive counterpart in many ways. Both started as depth rotation players and have proven themselves to be reliable playmakers for the team. He even completed a game-ending pass breakup, unfortunately injuring the Broncos’ Pat Bryant in the process.
Against the Broncos, Brown was targeted just twice, with two passes defended and zero receptions. His 5.1% target shooting percentage was also the Browns’ lowest of the season. According to NextGenStats, Brown leads the Jaguars with an 18.2% ball-hawking percentage and a 13.6% target percentage this season, the lowest among Jacksonville cornerbacks.
