Liverpool have retained Morton’s shareholding in the form of a sale clause, under which the Anfield club will receive 20% of the proceeds from Lyon’s acquisition of Morton.
Juventus want Morton
Morton is contracted until 2030 and has established himself as one of Ligue 1’s best midfielders, and will command a substantial fee if Lyon decide to cash in.
Juventus now claim that Juventus are considering a deal for the 23-year-old, which could be done sooner rather than later.

Morton could have been useful to Liverpool
If cash-strapped Lyon can get the price they paid for Rayan Cherki from Manchester City – around £30m – it would mean an extra £6m for Liverpool’s coffers.
However, this is likely to be the case for Morton to escape – with the club not retaining a buy-back clause in the Lyon deal.
The Scouser’s career in France has been off to a stunning start Could easily add to the club’s scarce midfield resources This year.
