In a recent interview with The Rich Eisen Show, quarterback guru Jordan Palmer praised Denver Broncos backup-turned-starter Jarrett Stidham as one of the “best-kept secrets” in the NFL ahead of Sunday’s AFC Championship game against the New England Patriots.
“I don’t think anyone knew how good Jarrett Stidham was until this weekend,” Palmer said. Palmer spoke of his long-standing personal relationship with Stidham before endorsing his work ethic. Stidham backed up legendary quarterback Tom Brady in New England, threw a touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas and held a three-year role in head coach Sean Payton’s offense.

Sunday will be Stidham’s first start in more than two years. He last started for the Broncos at the end of the 2023 season, replacing then-quarterback Russell Wilson, who was benched at the end of the year.
Palmer then made a bold claim: “If both Derek Meyer and Jarrett Stidham are playing their best, I don’t think it’s going to be that much different,” Palmer said.
Interestingly, Palmer also revealed that one team made a significant offer to Stidham in a trade package, but the Broncos rejected it. “Then last year, I can’t say who it was, but there was a team that offered him a pretty good ransom to trade for him, and (Denver) wasn’t going to trade him.”
It just goes to show how valuable Stidham is to the Broncos, and they’re hoping their faith will be rewarded on Sunday.

Stidham’s first start in two seasons was crucial. The Broncos find themselves one win away from their first Super Bowl in a decade, while Stidham finds himself two wins away from cementing his place in NFL history.
